Wandering off in wonder

I'm quite sure that if I was to be given a blueprint or perhaps a roadmap of how my life has been so far, I'd be amazed by the number of turns, dips and swirls either would hold.

Somehow, right now in the middle of the night, the words I once heard from Steffany Gretzinger, "wandering off in wonder" make so much sense.

From one phase to another, walking with Jesus fills me with wonder. And to those who can't see it, I look like a wanderer—dancing from landmark to landmark, no steadily defining map in sight. But alas, the one who leads knows exactly where we're going. There's no doubt about it.

With the amount of uncertain thoughts my fertile mind is capable of churning out, it has taken constantly throwing myself upon the shoulders of Jesus to set my soul at ease. And the beauty is how he always does so.

Sometimes, the future he has shown us is too vast for words. Other times, we might have gotten just glimpses we feel are too slight to hold on to. But that's the thing: that in our journey of wonder, he is the goal. He's the promise at the end of the journey and the sustenance while we take our differing paths.

And on the days we seem to stray, he's the direction in our steps.

So beloved, throw those worries away about whether or not your journey makes sense. Your pilot knows exactly where he's flying, and how you're going to get there. Just trust, and when you need to, obey.

Jesus loves you with an everlasting love.
