He knows you by name

So, upon realising that it had been a while since I posted anything here, I proceeded to ask the Lord about what he wanted me to share, and here it is:

He knows you by name.

Now, a thousand-and-one things could be inferred from this knowledge, but here's the one that struck me as I pondered on it. You see, our names identify us. To those who know us, they imply intimacy and awareness. For some of us, when our parents call us by some of our names, we're able to tell at once what awaits us. For lovers, names spell a different shade of intimate knowledge, and a myriad of shared experiences that are sometimes the progenitors of such names.

So, when God says to you, "I know you by name". It's not just a casual statement. It's one that speaks of intimacy, of a shared understanding, of our direct acknowledgement by the one who sees. It's a promise to always have his eyes upon us, and more.

It's love expressed in five wonderfully arranged words. And it's ours for keeps.

So, let your heart rejoices in the fact that this love isn't just a generic thing, but is handcrafted for you just as the thought that went into your being named was, actually far more.

You are loved.

Testimony time

So, while I was writing this, I asked the Lord for what picture he would want me to use (I get most of them from the site 'Unsplash'), and he told me it should be a picture of a Father lifting up a child.

I wasn't sure how I was going to get it, but I had determined in my heart that I would.

Some minutes ago, I finally got data to check out pictures on Unsplash, and I started with the exact search words "Father lifting child up", but I got nothing. So, I decided to try again, and used the search words "Father and child" instead.

It was like magic (cue shocked expression)!

They were the first two pictures I saw: a father lifting up his daughter, and the next was that of a father lifting up his baby (the latter which I used here).

Now, you our dear reader might be wondering why I shared this. Well, it's because I need you to see just how much God is intentional about you. He's so into details that he even cares about what photo I use in this blog post because he knows it's going to send a message across to you, his darling child reading this.

So rest assured, because as Elisabeth Elliot would say, "you are loved by an everlasting love, and holding you up are two everlasting arms."
