How many times have you felt enormously drained and unwilling—seemingly unable, to do anything?
How many times has life hit you so hard that you were left struggling to pull yourself together?
How many times have you caught yourself lost so deep within your muddled thoughts that you're combing a particular portion of your hair for more than five minutes?
When life hits you six ways from sunday, and you just wish it would give you a break where you are—neck-deep in tear-filled handkerchiefs—it becomes so tempting to place your entire life on hold and tune it all out.
And while taking a breather is never a bad idea, it can become a problem when we begin to have issues with moving again or getting back on track.
Grit, is you pushing forward in spite of pain and adversity (was I the only one the word itself made feel that way—like it had to do with forcing something to hold on or move—even before I truly knew the meaning?).
I know a good number of us have come to loathe motivational speakers (even though I believe they also have their uses) for reasons like this—when they make you feel like you're not utilising your will or mental power enough, to push through the hardships of life (LOL).
Still, we cannot deny this truth—that to attain our (most times incredibly lofty) goals, we'll sometimes need to grit our teeth and pull our aching hearts and bodies through life and past its hardcore punches.
So, though today's blog post is quite brief, I hope it gives you the push that you need.
A popular quote still reads till date;
"Tough times don't last. But tough people do."
Learning to grit our teeth at times when our growth is dependent on our own consistency, is an ability we must painstakingly learn. Why? Because in due time, the fruits will become evident.
"Tough times don't last. But tough people do."
Enjoyable and insightful, as always
