Hello 2022, God is my portion!

2021 had a lot to offer us. Like, a lot. I'm not even going to get started on all the colours it showed, but personally, I think I broke a crying record for that year.

Thankfully, it's all behind us now. The memories, not necessarily, maybe not even the results or consequences from the actions that occurred then. Still, in a way, 2022 can be a clean slate for those who want it to be.

Now, it's not like all our problems vanish at the start of a new year (or even a new day). However, what the start of a new year gives to us, is the mental capacity to keep on hoping, to keep on believing.

Admit it or not, we humans love our landmarks and our special moments. We love things that can give us a level of stability; that makes it okay to start over. And while some people have been able to grasp that in every new day or hour, the new year for most of us, is that universal hallmark of new beginnings.

It's the day we can truly tell ourselves that it's okay to try again...and believe it too.

So, for this reason, I'm welcoming 2022 with open arms, and even more importantly, an awareness: that in this year, just like the years before and the years to come, Jesus Christ is my very own portion.

The year's got a lot in store, and I honestly cannot tell all of what it'll yield. No one can but God. But with Him on our side, we are assured that lines will always fall to us in the most pleasant of places.

We're assured of plenty even in famine, of hope even in moments of despair, of light even in the darkest of moments (Psalm112:4). Because Jesus is our portion, and for this reason alone, we will be content, and face the year with steady hearts (Psalm 112:7).

For this reason, anticipate every day, cos it'll be loaded with benefits. And never forget:

"God is within you: you will not fall. God will help you at the break of day!"

—Psalm 46:5
